Metropolis Alumni & Supporters
Welcome to the 2024 season, and the monthly membership program we’ve developed for former members, sponsors and supporters.
The club will once again be competing in the Men's National Division 1, Men's National Division 2, and Metropolis Valkyries will be competing in the National Women's Division 1. We will also be fielding a variety of 7's teams both competitively and socially. The club is recruiting hard at all levels and continuing to ramp up its total number of participants.
With the continued increase in total numbers and high number of matches comes an increase in our need to provide an expanded travel budget, training equipment, and training facilities for our players. Please consider pledging your support to Metropolis rugby through our monthly membership program.
The monthly membership program is designed to provide steady funding to the following yearly operational expenses: Coaching Staff, Training Equipment & Facilities, Medical Supplies, Travel Costs and Recruitment Funds
In 2024, we are again asking for former players, family, friends, and supporters to sign up for this program to support the club.
Rather than asking for an contributions sporadically through the year, usually with a moment's notice, we are asking participants to sign up for the monthly membership program. Simply commit to a monthly sum, supply your credit card, and that’s it. The credit card is charged monthly and no longer will you be asked to donate through the year.
Memberships start at the “Booster” level of only $10 per month and you can upgrade your membership as your budget allows.
As previously mentioned, this revenue would be put toward coaching staff, training equipment & facilities, medical supplies, travel costs and recruitment funds. In just a few short years we would be able to make some significant moves from simple things like being able to give every player their kit when they pay their dues to ensuring more consistent indoor training facilities, and bolstering our coaching staff to adequately manage and service all playing sides.
Our alumni are made up of Metropolis “Old Boys” and “Vintage Valks”. The funds received from Old Boys will be allocated to the men’s teams and funds received from Vintage Valks will be allocated towards the costs incurred by the Metropolis Valkyries women’s team.
Right now, an average player for Metropolis Rugby Club pays $6,000 in one year to represent our great club. The $6,000 is comprised mostly of travelling which includes flights, car/van rentals, gas, and hotels to name a few.

Free Gift
Those that contribute at the Silver Shield level and above ($25 or more) receive an upgraded annual gift. This year it is the choice of a cooler or a foldable chair. (Gold and Platinum Shield members will receive both items). If you are contributing at the Booster Level ($10 a month) these items are available for purchase at $50 each. If you are not a monthly member but would like to make a one time donation of $150 or more you will receive a cooler (or chair if you prefer).
