Favorite Rugby Memory?

My fondest memory with Metropolis has to be the cow tipping event at the October 2022 family event. Many of the old boys and current players donned cow suits, and allowed the littles to run on the field and tip them over. Seeing the family friendly environment, and support between the men and women's sides was a welcoming sight. It made me want to officially join the club.

Inside Center

Favorite Rugby Memory?

Fall 2022 win in the Midwest championship game against the Lions - fighting tooth and nail to hold the line and keep the lions from scoring in the last few minutes. The celebration afterwards at the brewery with everyone (including Martha) taking a drink out of the trophy cup. And the feelings of possibilities knowing that we would be going to the National championship in spring 2023.

Started playing with MN in 1990 through the transition from U of M to MN Valkyries. Then the transition from MN Valkyries to Metropolis Valkyries.

Scrum Half

Favorite Rugby Memory?

The first time the Valkyries beat New York, in the wind-blown plains at Rockford, IL, to earn our first berth in the national semifinals. Turned out to be the first of many, but it had been a long road back to get over that hurdle and into the national championship.

Favorite Rugby Memory?

One of my favorite memories was meeting my future husband at practice and playing summer 7's where Bryant and I began dating (2019). Traveling with summer 7's was a wonderful time in my younger years. I also loved my early days on the Valkyries carpooling with the senior players, especially Mojo & all of her crazy work stories and hearing about the team's "good old days".
